The American Dream AwardsBefore the opening of the Spring Homes Tour, builders have the opportunity to enter the judging for the American Dream Award Contest. Sponsored by the Home Builders Association of Greater Kansas City (HBA), the contest recognizes the building industry's highest level of distinctive construction throughout the Greater Kansas City metropolitan area. Categories for the American Dream Awards are segmented by price range and evaluated by out-of-town industry professionals. The American Dream Award entrants are judged for their accomplishments in workmanship and construction methods. Some of the selection criteria includes concrete, framing, curb-appeal and energy-efficient methods. Look for a list of this year's winners in the April 28 issue of your local newspapers or at the HBA's web site. Additionally, winners of this year's American Dream Awards will feature a banner designating their achievement.
